The Cornell men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are preparing to compete at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, which will take place at Navy’s Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Maryland. The event is scheduled from March 9 to March 11.

Representing the Cornell men will be Max Reis-Trovillion and Klingensmith, while Morgan Ogata and Lilla Kuziemko will compete for the women’s team. The competition marks a return for Reis-Trovillion and Ogata, who have both participated in previous zone meets. For Klingensmith, a sophomore, and Kuziemko, a freshman, this will be their first appearance at Zones.

Michael Ross, the Richard W. Gilbert Diving Coach for Cornell, expressed confidence in his athletes’ readiness for the championship. “Reis-Trovillion and Ogata are returning for their second and third zone meet respectively and hope to improve on their performance from last year. Klingensmith is going for the first time as a sophomore. Kuziemko is going for her first zone as a freshman after an outstanding 1-meter performance at Ivy’s making the A final and getting 8th place in the league,” Ross said.

Ross also noted that this year’s roster has doubled compared to last year’s participation. “I am excited to represent the Big Red with two men and two women, doubling our Zone Championship roster from last year. All four divers scored significant points for our teams at the Ivy league championships this month and I can’t wait to see them perform at this high-level competition,” he added.

The NCAA Zone A Diving Championships can be streamed on Navy Athletics Facebook.
