Cornell men’s golf will participate in the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club on April 11 and 12.
The event is important for Cornell as it continues its spring season and prepares for upcoming tournaments, including the Ivy League Championship later this month.
The tournament will be held at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, New Jersey. The course plays as a par-72 with a yardage of 6,458 yards. All eight Ivy League programs are set to compete alongside Seton Hall, Temple, Rider, Saint Joseph’s, and Georgetown. The format includes three rounds over two days: two rounds on Saturday and one round on Sunday.
Cornell’s lineup features Shep Davis, Tyler Debusschere, Weston Warden, Adithya Venkataraghavan, Viktor Stollinger, and TJ Betlow (competing individually). Freshman Shep Davis has been notable this season with a scoring average of 74.69 and leading the team as low scorer in four out of six events. He achieved the team’s best individual finish with a tie for eighth place at the Red Bandana Invitational and matched Debusschere’s first-round score of 69 at the Columbia Autumn Invite.
Junior Tyler Debusschere follows closely with a scoring average of 75.13. He posted Cornell’s best three-round total this year—a score of 214 (+1) at Lake Placid—and recorded the only under-par tournament by shooting two-under over two rounds at Apalachin.
The team had its strongest showing during the fall season with an overall score of 869 at Lake Placid but finished tied for seventeenth when opening their spring campaign in South Carolina.
After Princeton, Cornell is scheduled to play in Columbia’s Roar-EE Invitational on April 18 before heading into the Ivy League Championship from April 24 to April 26.
