The Cornell men’s lightweight rowing team will compete against Princeton on April 10 at Lake Carnegie for the Platt and Harriott Trophy.
This event is significant as Cornell currently holds the trophy, having defeated Princeton in their last matchup. The previous race served as a tiebreaker after both teams recorded two wins each.
Tyler Nase, the Henry E. Bartels ’48 Head Coach of Lightweight Rowing, said, “Princeton will be a good test for us. This is our first away race of the spring season. It is still very early, but the team has been making great progress.”
Cornell’s varsity boat lineup includes Rhea Kaycee (cox), Nathan Bechard (8), Owen Brown (7), Maximilian Purcea (6), Colin Bailey (5), Nicholas Hlinka (4), Gabe Xu (3), Teddu Holtman (2), and Cruz Erdmann (1). The junior varsity crew features Sofia Lago (cox), Nathaniel Santaniello (8), Alessandro Zanni (7), Samuek Peale (6), Jon Mayer (5), Neekon Tabatabai (4), Evan Yang (3), Michael Phelps (2) and Francis Lau (1).
Cornell Big Red Men’s Rowing represents Cornell University in NCAA Division I rowing events, according to the official website. The team competes as part of both the Ivy League and the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges according to the official website.
