The Cornell men’s indoor track and field team delivered strong results at the Southern Tier Invite held in Barton Hall on Saturday. The event featured a full schedule of competitions, with Cornell athletes participating in sprints, hurdles, middle distance, distance, relays, and field events.
Sophomore Panashe Nhenga made a significant impact by finishing the 300-meter dash in 34.74 seconds. This performance moved him into 10th place on Cornell’s all-time list for the event. Senior Ryder King also improved his standing in the record books by running the 60-meter hurdles in 7.9 seconds, strengthening his hold on fourth place among Cornell’s best times.
In field events, freshman Joe Seib reached eighth place on Cornell’s indoor all-time list for shot put with a throw of 17.21 meters. The Big Red throws group had a productive day overall.
Cornell demonstrated depth across all events during its second meet of the season. The team is scheduled to compete again next Saturday, January 17, when it hosts the Upstate Challenge at Barton Hall.
