The Cornell men’s cross country team achieved a decisive victory at the John Reif Memorial meet on Friday in Ithaca, New York. Competing against Colgate, Cornell runners claimed the top nine finishing spots.
Junior Adam Martinson led the field, winning the individual title with a time of 15:23.3. Freshman Griffin Cords finished second in 15:27.2, and junior Tyler Tisinger took third place with a time of 15:28.4. The trio established an early lead within the first mile and maintained their positions throughout the race.
Sophomore Asher Patel (15:37.1) and freshman Will Hauser (15:41.3) completed Cornell’s sweep of the scoring positions, all five runners finishing under 15 minutes and 42 seconds.
Freshman Ben Gibson and senior Zachary Winnicki finished sixth and seventh with times of 15:49.5 and 15:59.4, respectively. Cornell secured all top nine places before Colgate’s first runner crossed the finish line.
This performance concludes Cornell’s regular season as they prepare for the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships next weekend.
