Cornell University sophomore pitcher Mila Fiordalisi has been named Ivy League Co-Pitcher of the Week. She is the first Cornell player to receive this recognition since Katie Lew in 2018.
Fiordalisi achieved a significant milestone by throwing the program’s second perfect game and eighth no-hitter, leading her team to an 8-0 win over Morgan State. In that five-inning game, she struck out eight batters and faced the minimum number possible. Over the weekend, Fiordalisi posted a 2.33 ERA across nine innings, giving up just four hits and striking out 14 while walking only one batter. In another appearance against Merrimack, she allowed four hits and three earned runs in four innings, taking a loss despite her efforts. Across both games, opponents hit .148 against her.
The Cornell softball team will play next during the weekend of March 14 with a three-game series against Yale at 5K Corral Field.
