Cornell women’s rowing concluded its road competition at the Princeton Invite on April 11, finishing third or fourth in all twelve races held on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, New Jersey. The event featured strong teams including No. 6 Princeton, No. 8 Syracuse, No. 11 Rutgers and No. 17 Harvard.

The significance of the event lies in Cornell’s performance against several nationally ranked programs as it prepares for upcoming home meets.

During the morning session, Princeton swept all six races against Cornell, Syracuse and Harvard. The Tigers secured victories in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and all three fours categories. Syracuse consistently placed second across these events while Cornell finished fourth in five out of six morning races. The Big Red’s top finish came in the third varsity eight race where they edged out Harvard for third place.

Princeton continued its dominance by winning its tenth consecutive Class of 1975 Cup title, marking its fifteenth win over sixteen years and thirty-first victory out of thirty-five contested since 1990.

In the afternoon session facing Princeton and Rutgers, Cornell finished last in each of six races as Princeton swept all three varsity eight contests and Rutgers won each varsity four race. In some events with additional entries from Rutgers or when other teams did not compete (such as a scratch from Princeton), Cornell maintained consistent participation but did not improve on earlier placements.

Cornell will next host Rhode Island, Delaware and Bucknell at Cayuga Inlet for two consecutive weekends of home racing action to be streamed live on ESPN+.
