The Cornell women’s ice hockey team secured a 3-0 win over the Yale Bulldogs on Friday at Lynah Rink, extending their unbeaten start to the season. With this victory, Cornell improved its record to 5-0-0, while Yale fell to 3-2-0.
Cornell’s goals came from Nora Curtis, Beatrice Perron-Roy, and Lindzi Avar. Assists were credited to Perron-Roy, Alyssa Regalado, London McDavid, Curtis (two), and Avi Adam.
Goaltender Annelies Bergmann recorded a season-high 39 saves in the shutout effort, marking her fourth shutout of the season and bringing her personal record to 6-0-0.
Curtis opened the scoring just under five minutes into the game with her fifth goal in six games. Less than two minutes later, Perron-Roy increased Cornell’s lead to 2-0. In the second period, Avar added a third goal for additional insurance.
Despite being outshot 39-21 by Yale, Bergmann kept Cornell’s net clear throughout the game. The Big Red also maintained their strong penalty kill performance by stopping all three of Yale’s power-play opportunities. Through six games this season, Cornell has not allowed a power-play goal.
Cornell will play again tomorrow against Brown at Lynah Rink. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
