Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan has announced the allocation of $50,000 in funding for Blue Star Canteen NY #1, a chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America located in Canandaigua. The funds will be used for renovations to improve the facility’s functionality and accessibility for military families.

The Canteen serves as a supportive environment for military families, providing a space to gather and receive support. The funding will cover both interior and exterior improvements, enhancing comfort and accessibility.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to support the dedicated Blue Star Canteen team in Canandaigua,” said Assemblyman Gallahan. “Our military families make incredible sacrifices, and it is crucial that we provide them with the resources and spaces they need to thrive. This funding will help ensure that the Canteen’s building is safe, welcoming and equipped to meet the needs of those who serve our country and their loved ones.”

Joyce Mader, president of the Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. NY Chapter #1, expressed gratitude: “The veterans are absolutely thrilled to have their home away from home refurbished. It means a lot to us to have the Canteen updated and made safe for our veterans so that we can continue to serve them and supply for their needs. We are most grateful to Assemblyman Gallahan for the generous grant and are eagerly awaiting the results.”

Assemblyman Gallahan emphasizes his commitment to initiatives that improve life quality in his district, highlighting his role in this project.
