At 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, Ben Ruth, a former Ithaca Senior High School standout, and his team, the Ithaca Bombers, were edged out in a 12-11 NCAA Division III baseball loss against the Scranton Royals.

Volpe Field hosted this tightly fought match, marking the first meeting of these two teams for the season.

Ruth, currently pitching for Ithaca, threw for one inning, tallying three strikeouts and two walks.

The Bombers are set to take the field again on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m., facing the Arcadia Knights at Skip Wilson Field.
