Kentucky secured an 18-13 win over Cornell in men’s polo on Friday evening at the Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, New York. The match saw Kentucky establish an early lead, going up 4-0 and maintaining a 6-3 advantage after the first chukker. By halftime, the Wildcats led 9-7.

Max Sponer led Cornell with seven goals, while Malachi Light contributed five and Dylan Tung added one goal. Despite closing the gap to within one goal at the start of the second half, Cornell was unable to keep pace as Kentucky scored six consecutive goals—including four straight to close out the third chukker—and held off a late push from Cornell.

Cornell Big Red Polo now holds a 10-2 record for the season. The team is scheduled to play against Toronto Polo Club on Saturday, March 14 at 6 p.m., again at Oxley Equestrian Center.

Cornell Big Red Polo is part of NCAA varsity polo and operates under Cornell University and the United States Polo Association. The program focuses on equestrian competition and uses “Big Red” as its mascot along with other university athletics teams. Based in Ithaca, New York, it serves as one of Cornell University’s athletics programs affiliated with national collegiate polo organizations.
