Lauren Holt was named Ivy League Player of the Week on March 16 after a strong showing in Cornell’s recent softball series against Yale.
Holt’s recognition comes after she achieved a .667 batting average and an .818 on-base percentage during the series. Her performance included four hits in six at-bats, three extra-base hits, and leadoff home runs in each of the first two games. She also drew five walks over the final two games, scored nine runs, reached base at least twice in every game, and stole two bases.
In Cornell’s only loss of the weekend, Holt went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, one run batted in, a double, and a home run. In game two, she recorded two hits in four at-bats with another home run, three walks, two stolen bases, and four runs scored. On Sunday, she walked twice and scored three times as Cornell secured its first conference road series win since 2023.
Holt now has 33 career home runs, placing her fourth on Cornell’s all-time list and ninth in Ivy League history.
The team is scheduled to play Bucknell next on Wednesday, March 18th in a doubleheader at Niemand-Robison Field. The games are set for 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., with broadcasts available on ESPN+.
