The Livingston County Board of Supervisors adopted a local law on March 24 to revise the annual salaries for all county officers serving fixed terms, according to an announcement from the Clerk of the Board.

The new salary schedule will take effect on January 1, 2026. The change applies to several key positions in Livingston County government and follows a legislative process that requires such revisions be enacted through local law.

According to the adopted measure, Democratic Commissioner of Elections David M. DiPasquale and Republican Commissioner of Elections Gary Nageldinger will each receive an annual salary of $78,500. Tracy McCaughey, Commissioner of Social Services, will earn $150,000 per year. The County Administrator position held by Shannon Hillier is set at $204,000 annually. Other roles affected include County Highway Superintendent Jason Wolfanger at $123,000; Director of Community Mental Health Services Sarah McCumiskey at $102,000; Public Health Director Jennifer J. Rodriguez at $150,000; and Director of Real Property Tax Services William E. Fuller at $104,000.

The law was introduced on December 17 and formally adopted on January 14 before being filed with the Secretary of State as required by New York’s Municipal Home Rule Law. The legislation stipulates that it becomes effective forty-five days after final adoption and filing unless challenged by permissive referendum.

This action ensures compliance with state requirements regarding compensation adjustments for county officers holding fixed-term appointments.
