The Livingston County Board of Supervisors and Youth Bureau announced on March 31 the recipients of the 2026 Teen Recognition Awards. The annual awards honor local youths, starting at age 15, for their community involvement, leadership skills, and ability to positively influence others while overcoming significant challenges.
The awards are sponsored by the board of supervisors and highlight young people from each of the county’s 17 towns. This year, there are 100 honorees who were nominated by community members. Since its inception in 1995, more than 2,371 teens have been recognized through this program. The full list of awardees is available at livingstoncountyny.gov/TeenAwardWinners.
Board Chair David LeFeber said, “Year after year, Livingston County’s young people continue to raise the bar. They’ve stepped up for their neighbors, led by example, and pushed through real challenges. As tomorrow’s leaders, these honorees are proof that the future of Livingston County is in good hands. It’s our honor to recognize and celebrate each of them for their achievements.”
A banquet celebration event will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at Willow Creek Venue in Lakeville to officially recognize this year’s recipients. The event is invitation only for youth awardees and their guests as well as nominators and dignitaries. Morgan Peraino—a personal trainer specializing in injury prevention who received a Teen Recognition Award in 2011—will serve as keynote speaker under this year’s theme: “Livingston County Youth: Fit for Excellence.”
Livingston County was founded in 1821 and today includes more than 61,000 residents across its seventeen towns within New York’s Finger Lakes region.
