UR Medicine Thompson Health will hold its Lymphedema Support Group meeting on April 21 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Canandaigua Rehabilitation Center, located at 699 S. Main St.
The event is open to individuals affected by lymphedema and aims to provide support and resources for those managing the condition. Lymphedema is a chronic swelling disorder that can impact quality of life, making ongoing education and community connection important for patients.
Angela Kiklowicz, an Occupational Therapist and Licensed Massage Therapist, will facilitate the group. Kiklowicz holds certifications in Complete Decongestive Therapy for treating lymphedema as well as other chronic swelling disorders.
The support group offers participants a chance to learn about treatment options and share experiences with others facing similar challenges. The session provides both professional guidance and peer interaction in a supportive environment.
Future meetings are expected to continue offering information and assistance for those living with lymphedema.
