Customers of New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) are being urged to apply for Regular and Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) funding, which is available through Tuesday, April 7, or until funds run out, according to an April 1 announcement.

The program aims to help customers who have faced challenges paying their energy bills during the winter months. The availability of both Regular and Emergency HEAP provides support for those in need as colder weather increases heating costs.

Christine Alexander, vice president of Customer Service at NYSEG and RG&E, said, “We recognize the challenges customers faced this winter, which is why we want them to take advantage of all the assistance available. These important programs are one of the many tools available for our customers.”

Further details about how to apply can be found in the full press release on HEAP ASSISTANCE. Customers are encouraged to act promptly before funding is exhausted or the application window closes.

The companies’ Municipal, Community & Business Relations team remains available for questions via their contact email.
