Pam Helming, New York State Senator and the first woman elected to the 54th Senate District, has used her social media platform in March 2026 to highlight her advocacy for agriculture and economic relief measures in New York.

On March 16, Helming posted about receiving recognition from a prominent agricultural organization. She wrote, “Agriculture is the backbone of our local economy and our region’s identity. Honored to receive the Farmer’s Voice Award from the @NYFarmBureau. Our farmers feed our state and nation, and I’ll keep fighting in Albany to make sure their voices are heard.”

Two days later, on March 17, Helming addressed concerns about economic policy decisions by legislative leadership. She stated, ‘”Hope doesn’t pay the bills. We need action.” Listen to my comments on the Majority’s rejection of cost saving measures ‘

Continuing her focus on affordability issues, Helming posted on March 19: “The cost of living is too high. New Yorkers need relief now. It’s time to act. Watch my remarks from the Joint Budget Subcommittees: Environment/ Agriculture/ Housing:”

According to her official biography, Helming promotes protection of the Finger Lakes region and advocates for women in government (https://www.nysenate.gov/senators/pamela-helming/about). She is affiliated with both the Republican and Conservative parties and serves as ranking member on committees including insurance and cannabis. In addition to her recent Farmer’s Voice Award, she has received other honors such as Farm Family Advocate of the Year and Loretta Simmons Women’s Leadership Award. Her legislative priorities include supporting law enforcement, veterans, seniors, farmers, small businesses, and environmental protection within her district.
