Senator Helming recently marked a significant milestone with a member of the Victor community. Harold Elmer Stryker, a resident of Victor, was honored on his 100th birthday with a New York State Senate Citation for his lifetime of service and commitment to his country and community.

Harold, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, is one of five brothers from Wayne County who served during the war. Their service exemplifies the patriotism and strength of their generation.

Senator Helming stated, “Harold is a shining example of what makes our nation great. He represents the values and quiet strength that define the Greatest Generation. It was my privilege to honor his 100th birthday and present him with a New York State Senate Citation on behalf of a grateful state. We thank Harold not only for his service in World War II but for the legacy of patriotism and kindness he continues to share with his community every day.”

The New York State Senate Citation is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities and the state. It is among the highest honors given by a New York State Senator.
