Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson said on March 19 that deputies arrested Hanes Minges, age 36, of Ovid, New York, following a domestic incident that took place on March 16.

The case is significant as it involves multiple charges related to both property damage and the welfare of a child. According to Thompson, Minges was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, which is classified as a class E felony. Additional charges include Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor, and Harassment in the Second Degree, which is considered a violation.

Authorities allege that during the incident on March 16, Minges damaged property and made threats to harm others while involved in a domestic dispute. Following his arrest at approximately 7:46 am that day, Minges was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies.

Minges was then transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility where he awaits arraignment. No further details about the incident or potential court dates were provided by officials.

Sheriff Thompson said the investigation remains ongoing.
