Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson said on March 9 that Denise Picciano of Auburn, New York, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on March 5 in connection with an outstanding warrant from the Town of Tyre.

The case is significant as it involves cooperation between law enforcement agencies across county lines. Cayuga County deputies located Picciano and transferred her to Seneca County deputies for processing.

Picciano faces charges of grand larceny in the fourth degree and petit larceny. She was arraigned at CAP court and released on her own recognizance, according to the sheriff’s office.
