Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson said on March 9 that deputies arrested Caylea M. Farmer, 29, of Waterloo, in the Town of Waterloo on March 7. Farmer was charged with being a Fugitive of Justice due to an outstanding arrest warrant from Texas.
The case began when deputies responded to a separate 911 complaint and discovered that Farmer had a full extraditable warrant from Texas signed in 2023. The authorities then took her into custody.
Farmer was transported to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center following her arrest. She will remain there until deputies from Collins County, Texas, arrive to transport her back to face charges related to the warrant.
Sheriff Thompson said the charge stems directly from the incident on March 7 and confirmed that local law enforcement is cooperating with authorities in Texas for extradition procedures.
The broader implication of this case highlights ongoing cooperation between law enforcement agencies across state lines when handling fugitives wanted for prosecution elsewhere.
