CALEDONIA VILLAGE: A letter from Mayor Scott DiLiberto

Caledonia1000x667

Caledonia village recently issued the following announcement.

Dear Village Residents,

As Village Mayor, I would like first to thank everyone for coming together in these difficult times. As you may know, the reality of this virus has hit our community today. We mourn for our community member and all families affected. We have a strong community that knows how to lean on one another for support. This is something new, routine-breaking, scary, and still has many unknowns. Our daily lives have been shaken. Let’s hope time, following the rules and suggestions, and some good old-fashioned sunshine will see us through this.

As a village government our priority is our residents. During these trying times our goal is to continue providing the services you’ve relied on for many years. Our Clerk’s Office is still operational, although closed to the public. Hours have been limited but there is a drop box inside the first door. All questions or concerns can be called in at 538-6565 and if need be leave a message. Our Police Department is also fully operational, but closed to the public. All emergencies should be directed to 911. Our officers will be following some new protocols with personal safety equipment and social distancing. Our DPW crew has been off the last 2 weeks but is on call for any emergency such as a broken water line or downed trees. The DPW will also be following some new protocols with personal safety equipment and social distancing when you see them back on the streets. Please respect these new and unfamiliar routines for everyone.

Now for COVID-19. As a Village Government we take direction from Federal, State and County Governments. The Livingston County Government should be the source where we get our daily updates and facts. It is crucial that we rely on them for up to date information. The County has the Health Department and the Emergency Management Office. All of our experts, professionals, and emergency protocols are set forth and established by Livingston County. They have been and are doing a fantastic job.

Village residents, we will get through this. It seems like a nightmare but better days are ahead of us. We will continue to be a strong community where people love to live. Stay strong, stay calm, stay positive and most of all stay healthy.

Be safe,

Scott DiLiberto

Mayor, Village of Caledonia
