11 percent of applicants to Cornell University were admitted for fall 2018

At Cornell University, 99 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 53 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Ithaca enrolled 23,600 students in fall 2018, including 15,182 in undergraduate and 8,418 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

31 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 57 percent are residents of other states. 10 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (36 percent) and Asian (19 percent).

The school admitted 11 percent of the 51,324 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 60 percent enrolled.
