Cost of college went up for all students at Hobart William Smith Colleges

Tuition and fees rose 3.2 percent for 2018-19 at Hobart William Smith Colleges, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York students paid $55,255 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,730 more than the $53,525 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 96 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 607 students received grants or scholarships totaling $19.1 million and 406 students took out student loans totaling more than $3.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,241), 2,064 students used grants or scholarships totaling $63.2 million, and 1,302 students took out $8.3 million in federal student loans.
