Cayuga County Sheriff's Office recently issued the following announcement.
The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office is joining numerous agencies from across the country in recognizing Rail Safety Week, September 21- 27. More than 2100 people are killed or seriously injured each year at rail crossings or incidents involving trespassing on railroad tracks. By obeying all related rail crossing and trespass laws, and with additional awareness, we can reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by these types of incidents.
