A little history of the Election Day Dinner: According to the Enfield Valley Grange Newsletter an Election Day Supper was organized the first time at the Grange to be held November 7, 1967. The Supper was to help pay for the furnace which had recently been installed at the Grange. The Supper was “family style” served at the table. Turkey with all the fixings was served. They fed 276 people and made $349.67. Lee Carpenter, Doris Specht and Warena Ramsey helped to organize the supper.
In 1968 the Election Day Supper served Scalloped Potatoes and Ham with fixings all for $1.50. In 1969 they went back to a Turkey Supper and have been serving it ever since.
