Watkins Glen Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Schuyler County schools, welcoming 477 students during the 2023-24 academic year, according to the New York State Education Department.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 93.9% of the Watkins Glen Elementary School's total enrollment.

Among the six schools in Schuyler County, Watkins Glen Central High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 414 students, while Odessa-Montour Junior/Senior High School welcomed 298 students and came in third in the 2023-24 school year.

Watkins Glen Elementary School is part of Watkins Glen Central School District, which roughly covers two schools within Schuyler County and has a main office in Watkins Glen.

In the previous school year, Watkins Glen Elementary School also had the highest number of students among Schuyler County schools.

In 2022, New York had roughly one teacher for every 12 students, which is lower than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students. A lower student-to-teacher ratio has been found to improve students' school performance.
