Thompson Health announced on April 15 that it is joining the University of Rochester Medicine in a new system-wide brand refresh, adopting a unified name and logo to reflect its connection with the university. The organization, an affiliate for 14 years, will now be known as Thompson Health, part of University of Rochester Medicine.

The change aims to create a consistent identity across all affiliate hospitals and care locations within the health system. While Thompson Health will align under the new branding, its local name and identity will remain intact. F.F. Thompson Hospital, the F.F. Thompson Foundation, and existing services will continue operating under their current names.

The rebranding follows a similar refresh by the university itself in October 2025 and brings the health system’s approach in line with national peers such as Penn Medicine, UCLA Health, and Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Michael F. Stapleton, Jr., President and CEO of Thompson Health said: “This transition strengthens our connection to one of the nation’s leading academic health systems while preserving the Thompson Health identity our community knows and trusts. Our mission, our people, and our commitment to the Finger Lakes region are the same. Patients and families can expect the same providers, the same care, and the same community focus they’ve always experienced at Thompson.”

The rollout will begin online through updates to websites and social media channels before moving gradually to physical changes like signage or uniforms as materials are replaced over time.
