The Thompson Health Guild announced on Apr. 1 that it will host a series of evening “Planting Parties” in partnership with Spring Valley Gardens, located at 3100 County Road 10 in Canandaigua. The events are scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 5 through 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. each night.

The initiative aims to give participants an early start on seasonal planting while supporting a local cause. According to the announcement, all necessary materials such as soil and tools will be provided at the event. A Spring Valley Gardens expert will be available to assist attendees with plant selection and offer advice on creating potted arrangements.

Participants can bring their own containers or purchase one at the nursery and will pay only for the plants they select. There is no upfront cost to attend; however, advance registration is required due to limited space each evening.

A portion of sales from the event will benefit the Guild’s Associate Education Fund. This fund supports Thompson Health employees seeking career advancement by helping them overcome financial barriers.

The Thompson Health Guild said that spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
