The Thompson Health Guild is organizing a fundraising event, “Cruise for a Cause,” on the Canandaigua Lady to support its Associate Education Fund. The event is scheduled for Friday, September 5, with the 90-minute cruise departing from 205 Lakeshore Drive at 4:30 p.m. Passengers are asked to arrive by 4 p.m.
Tickets are priced at $35 per person. The boat is accessible for individuals with disabilities and includes two bathrooms. Passengers are not allowed to bring outside food or beverages, but snacks and drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, will be available for purchase at the full-service bar onboard.
A portion of the proceeds from both ticket sales and bar purchases will go toward the Thompson Health Guild. The Guild is a nonprofit that raises funds to help Thompson Health expand facilities, buy equipment, and provide programs for patients, senior living residents, staff, and community members.
According to the organization, its Associate Education Fund provides up to $10,000 annually to help Thompson associates pursue further education and professional certifications. In the past decade, more than 50 associates have benefited from this fund by enhancing their skills and receiving new training.
