UR Medicine Thompson Health announced on Mar. 23 that it will celebrate National Doctors’ Day on Monday, March 30, by encouraging community members to honor their physicians through donations to the F.F. Thompson Foundation.

The initiative gives patients and families an opportunity to express gratitude for the care they have received while supporting ongoing healthcare services in the community.

According to Thompson Health, individuals who wish to acknowledge their doctors can make a donation online. The foundation will notify physicians of these gestures of appreciation, but will keep the amount of each gift confidential.

“This is a meaningful way to say, ‘thank you’ while also inspiring and supporting the compassionate care all Thompson Health providers give each day,” said Dr. Joseph A. Talarico, Thompson’s chief of surgery and director of its medical staff. “Your contribution also supports critical needs of the health system and helps to ensure our physicians have the resources they need to continue to care for patients with the highest standard of care, right here, close to home.”

National Doctors’ Day is observed annually as a time for communities across the country to recognize and thank medical professionals for their dedication and service.
