UR Medicine Thompson Health has been recognized with a Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America (MHA). This esteemed accolade acknowledges their efforts in promoting mental health and well-being for their employees.
MHA, a prominent nonprofit in mental health advocacy, awards the Bell Seal to employers meeting the standards of creating supportive work environments. These certifications range from Bronze to Platinum. Achieving Gold requires significant dedication, as only 25% of employers attain Bell Seal certification.
Thompson Health, with its staff of over 2,100 associates, underwent a detailed evaluation of its workplace culture, benefits, compliance, and wellness programs. Their initiatives such as Mental Health First Aid training, Success Coaching, and department-specific “Circles of Care” were pivotal in their achievement alongside numerous other wellness programs.
“We are extremely proud of the hard work our Associate Wellness, Associate Services, and Spiritual Care teams put into making sure Thompson Health provides the tools and resources our associates need in order to ensure they feel supported, and they feel comfortable reaching out for help if they are struggling with their mental health,” stated Thompson Health Vice President of Associate Services/Wellness Jennifer DeVault. She added, “Receiving this award is a validation of all this hard work and lets us know we are on the right track. In addition, having access to the MHA’s data helps us plan for the future as we strive to offer even more helpful programs and for that, we are grateful.”
The acknowledgment serves as a testament to Thompson Health’s commitment to mental health care and its ongoing efforts to enhance the workplace environment.
