CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health is set to host a class titled “Healing Within: Grief and Yoga” on Friday, August 1. The session will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Thompson Hospital, located at 350 Parrish Street.

The class is free and will be led by Brenda Lotito, who is both a nurse and a registered yoga teacher with training from a Yoga Alliance-registered school. It is described as a “compassionate, trauma-informed session” aimed at those dealing with grief.

Participants do not need prior yoga experience to attend the class, which focuses on helping them “gently move through the tension, anxiety, and restlessness that are often associated with grief.” Options for chair-based exercises will also be available.

The event will be held in the George M. Ewing Jr. Conference Room on the ground floor of the Constellation Center for Health and Healing, situated at the back of the hospital. Attendees can enter via The Thompson Way off West Street.
