Cayuga County issued the following announcement on Oct. 26.
Monday, October 26, 2020 – eight new cases – five Cayuga County residents hospitalized
• A male in his fifties, living outside the City of Auburn.
• A teenager, living outside the City of Auburn, attending school in the Moravia School District.
• A male in his forties, living outside the City of Auburn.
• A child, living inside the City of Auburn, attending school in the Auburn Enlarged City School District.
• A child, living inside the City of Auburn, attending school in the Auburn Enlarged City School District.
• A female in her fifties, living inside the City of Auburn.
• A male in his twenties, living inside the City of Auburn.
• A male in his twenties, living inside the City of Auburn.
Active Cases in Mandatory Quarantine/ Isolation 358 in Mandatory Quarantine 98 in Mandatory Isolation
Hospitalized Cases Currently there are five Cayuga County resident hospitalized.
Confirmed Cases – total year to date There have been a total of 377 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cayuga County.
Discharges- total year to date There have been 275 individuals discharged from Mandatory Isolation.
Deaths There have been four Cayuga County deaths related to COVID-19.
Additional Information
There was a reporting error for a correctional facility in which two individuals were counted twice on Friday, October 23, 2020, the total year to date total should have been 351. We have corrected the error and the year to date total number is reflective of this correction.
The Cayuga County Health Department is strongly urging individuals to not go to work with any symptoms, even if symptoms are mild. We ask that if you have symptoms you contact your healthcare provider. Local healthcare providers will be able to assess their patient for symptoms, order appropriate tests and provide a proper diagnosis.
