Although New York State WIC serves about 390,000 New Yorkers, nearly twice as many could benefit from its public health services. As part of the NYS WIC targeted outreach project, Hunger Solutions New York partnered with the Center for Human Services Research (CHSR) at the University at Albany to conduct a comprehensive statewide assessment. The assessment includes a survey to learn why eligible families may not enroll in WIC and about WIC participants' experiences with the program.
Please encourage your patients who are pregnant or raising children under age 5 to participate in a NYSDOH WIC sponsored 5 min survey. The survey is voluntary, takes about five minutes to complete, and is available in English, Spanish, and Chinese. The first 500 caregivers (250 WIC participants and 250 non-participants) to complete the survey will receive a $5 e-gift card. The survey is open until at least September 30, 2022
