Seneca County Districts: Waterloo Central School District welcomed most students in 2022-23 school year

Waterloo Central School District had the highest enrollment among Seneca County school districts, welcoming 1,433 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the New York State Education Department.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.6% of them were boys, and 48.2% were girls.

Data also showed that the majority of students were white, making up 84.9% of Waterloo Central School District's total enrollment.

Among the four districts in Seneca County, Seneca Falls Central School District ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,238 students, while South Seneca Central School District welcomed 636 students and ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Waterloo Central School District roughly covers schools within Seneca County and has a main office in Waterloo.

In the previous school year, Waterloo Central School District also had the highest number of students among Seneca County districts.

In 2022, New York had roughly one teacher for every 12 students, which is lower than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students. A lower student-to-teacher ratio has been found to improve students' school performance.
