On July 13, 2024, Lemondes reacted to a reported shooting at a Trump rally. In a statement, Lemondes condemned the violence and emphasized its detrimental impact on democracy.

“Politically motivated violence in any form is completely unacceptable and has no home in our country,” said Lemondes. “This was a direct assault on our democracy and our electoral process and stands in direct contradiction of the values our nation was built upon. Extremist actions like this should not be tolerated under any circumstance and all perpetrators and conspirators must be held accountable to the highest extent of the law. My thoughts and prayers are with President Trump and his family during this time as he recovers. I extend my deepest gratitude to members of the Secret Service and local law enforcement for their quick and rapid response to keep the public safe.”
