Senator Helming has been re-appointed as Chair of the Senate Republican Conference by Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt. This role is crucial for guiding the Conference's agenda in the 2025 legislative session.
Senator Ortt expressed gratitude, stating, “First and most importantly, thank you for your steadfast support as we enter the new legislative session. I look forward to continuing our work together as a conference to make New York a more affordable, safer, and healthier state for hardworking families.”
Senator Helming responded to her appointment with commitment: “I am deeply honored to be appointed Chair of the Senate Republican Conference. I am committed to working diligently to enhance the quality of life for our constituents by alleviating the financial burdens faced by families and businesses while addressing critical issues of crime and public safety.”
Besides her leadership position, Senator Helming will serve as Ranking Member on two key State Senate committees: Housing, Construction and Community Development, and Insurance. She will also participate in several other important committees such as Agriculture, Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation, Finance, Racing, Gaming and Wagering, Rules, and the Legislative Commission on Rural Resources.
