Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan has announced the allocation of $50,000 in CREST Grant Funding to the Town of Cuyler. The funding will be used to renovate the old Train Depot into a new Town Office. This project focuses on the adaptive reuse of a historic building that aims to serve the community for many years.

The funds will specifically be utilized for installing spray insulation and wiring, which are essential for making the building operational. Beyond its function as a Town Office, this space is expected to become a community hub hosting public meetings, educational presentations, and cultural events.

“It is my honor to represent the Town of Cuyler in the New York State Assembly. This community is home to a strong, close-knit community with a rich history and deep connection to its past. Historic conservation and adaptive reuse are important to the town’s leadership, who are focused on preserving their heritage for generations to come. I am proud to have secured this funding, which will go a long way towards enabling the town to better serve its residents and realize its long-term vision,” stated Assemblyman Gallahan.

“Securing this grant is a major step forward for the Town of Cuyler. Restoring and repurposing the old Train Depot into a functional Town Office ensures that we can better serve our residents while preserving an important part of our town’s history. We appreciate Assemblyman Gallahan’s support in helping us move this project forward for the benefit of our community,” commented Lou Anne Randall, Supervisor of the Town of Cuyler.
