UR Medicine Thompson Health is organizing a presentation on suicide prevention titled "Talk Saves Lives." The event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, and will take place in the cafeteria at F.F. Thompson Hospital, located at 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua. It will run from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m.

The presentation will feature Paul Ziegler, an educator and advocate for suicide prevention. Ziegler's involvement in this cause is personal; he lost his son Jacob to suicide in 2015 while Jacob was serving as a soldier.

Ziegler aims to provide insights into the factors that contribute to suicide and discuss practical steps for prevention. The talk will cover the scope of the suicide crisis, current research, and effective strategies for prevention.

Attendance is free, but registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided. Interested individuals can register at talksaveslives.rsvpify.com.
