Honoring the legacy of two local suffragette leaders Eliza Wright Osborne and Emily Howland

#auburnny now displays two historical markers on the #nationalvotesforwomentrail denoting the sites of the Women’s Educational & Industrial Union that stood on at 25 South Street and the site of the Cayuga County Political Equality Club once located  at 9 Exchange Street.

A project of The National Collaborative for Women’s History Sites, The National Votes for Women Trail is collecting sites from all over our country to to tell the untold story of suffrage for all women, of all ethnicities, that extends well past the passage of the 19th Amendment. The William G. Pomeroy Foundation has sponsored the 250 historic roadside markers that will be designated nationally.
