Senator Helming invites community to annual Veterans Recognition Ceremony

New York State Senator Pam Helming has announced an invitation to the community for the annual Veterans Recognition Ceremony. The event will honor 21 veterans from the 54th Senate District for their notable military service and contributions to civilian life.

The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30th at the Fort Hill Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua. Doors will open at 3:30 PM, with the program starting at 4:00 PM.

The honorees include Lance D. Rearick from Clifton Springs, Peter F. Gilbert from Farmington, Richard Baskin from Canandaigua, Ermil J. Peglow from Victor, Lewis Robert Lash from Phelps, Robert F. Heintzelman from Ontario, Morris Lew from Farmington, John H. Ambrose Jr. from Canandaigua, Thomas E. Parker from Bloomfield, Eric S. Linke from Victor, Robert Haggett also of Victor, David Brisbane of Bloomfield, Norris Conklin of Canandaigua, Eric R. Lang of Honeoye, Sean Edmunds of Newark; Joseph Donald Telaro of Rush; Arthur Michael Paliani Jr., Mendon; Michael O'Connell also of Mendon; Salvatore Marcera of Chili; Paul Buchanan of Mt. Morris; and Alex Pierce from Nunda.

Honorees marked with an asterisk—Ermil J. Peglow and Norris Conklin—will be honored posthumously.

Senator Helming expressed her respect and gratitude towards these veterans: “It is one of my greatest honors as a State Senator to recognize the brave men and women who have served our nation with valor and distinction," she said. "Please consider joining me in honoring this outstanding group of veterans as we thank them for their service and sacrifice."
